Archie Browning Sports activities Centre in Esquimalt was the place to be for curling followers this weekend, as the lads’s and girls’s provincial championships came about.

Within the girls’s championships, Crew Grandy out of Vancouver took first place, beating Crew Brown.

Brown took the lead within the first finish with one level, with Grandy scoring 5, two then one level within the second via fourth finish.

Within the fifth spherical Brown scored one level, adopted by three factors to Grandy within the sixth finish, then one level to Brown within the seventh.

Neither workforce scored factors within the eighth finish, at which level Brown conceded, making Grandy the profitable workforce with a score of 11-3.

Crew Brown earned a wild card spot, so each groups shall be going to the Scotties in Calgary Feb. 16-25.

Within the males’s championship, Crew Schneider beat Crew Montgomery 5-2. Each groups are primarily based out of Victoria.

Zero factors have been scored within the first 5 ends, then Schneider scored one level within the sixth finish.

Montgomery then pulled forward within the seventh finish scoring two factors.

Schneider then clinched the victory by scoring three factors within the eighth finish, then one within the ninth finish.

The workforce will now advance to the 2024 Brier in Regina on March 1-10.
