A state funeral might be held later this month for former prime minister Brian Mulroney, who died Thursday at 84.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says there might be alternatives for Canadians to specific their condolences to Mulroney’s household as effectively.

Mulroney’s daughter, Caroline, stated in a press release Thursday night that her father died peacefully surrounded by his household.

Her spokesman later stated Mulroney died in a Florida hospital after a fall at his dwelling in Palm Seaside.

The flag on the Peace Tower in Ottawa is flying at half-mast in his honour.

MPs agreed Friday morning to droop Parliament for the day, and provide tributes to Mulroney on March 18.

Mulroney was the chief of the Progressive Conservative get together within the Eighties and was prime minister for almost 9 years between 1984 and 1993.
