Saanich Law enforcement officials pulled over a driver after seeing driving behaviour that made them query the drivers sobriety, however ended up with seizing a rifle and ammunition from the passenger.

On March 2, the officers pulled over a car as a result of they witnessed driving behaviour that led to them desirous to verify on the sobriety of the driving force.

Through the visitors cease, police say the passenger was appearing suspiciously, and there was a shell casing on the dashboard. The passenger, Joshua Logan, 30, was arrested.

Police say the driving force was not charged with impaired driving.

When looking the car, officers discovered a backpack that contained a GSG-15 .22 LR Rifle with loaded journal, a further loaded journal, over 200 rounds of ammunition and two pairs of brass knuckles.

Brass knuckles are banned in Canada beneath the Criminal Code.

Logan has been charged with two counts every of possessing a prohibited weapon and possess prohibited, restricted, or non-restricted firearm with a license and one depend every of transporting a firearm in a fashion opposite to regulation; carry or possess a weapon; occupy a car understanding there was a prohibited, restricted, or non-restricted firearm; and possess a loaded prohibited, restricted firearm with out being the holder of an authorization or license.
