Balmy climate throughout a lot of British Columbia helped set dozens of new temperature records throughout the province on Saturday.

Atmosphere Canada says a ridge of excessive strain introduced heat temperatures to the province this weekend, with above-normal situations forecast to proceed into this week.

In Victoria, the temperature hit 19 C, beating the outdated document of 18.3 C set in 1947.

Elsewhere on Vancouver Island, the Malahat space recorded 17.8 C, breaking the 36-year-old document of 14.5 C from 1988. In Port Hardy, it hit 15.4 C, breaking the 15 C document set in 1947.

In the meantime, in Powell River, the brand new document of 18.9 C broke 1972’s document of 16.7 C.

A number of different areas of the province additionally noticed temperatures climb previous 20 C over the weekend.

The climate workplace reported 38 communities logged their hottest March 16 on document, whereas the Nakusp space tied the document set in 1994.
