The Victoria and Esquimalt Police Board says a criticism filed towards the Victoria division by a former board member shall be dealt with by investigators from Surrey and Delta.

Former member Paul Schachter advised the board final evening that policing in Victoria is dealing with a “disaster of integrity” as he laid out issues over how a B.C. Supreme Courtroom choose known as out officers for “deliberately mendacity” to prosecutors and the court docket, derailing a serious drug investigation.

Schachter says he made a six-part criticism underneath the Police Act towards the division final month, claiming there’s a “failure generally course and administration or operation” of the Victoria Police Division.

Schachter says that any exterior investigation spurred by his criticism must be overseen by the board, somewhat than the division’s management.

Victoria Police Board member Paul Faoro says officers from the Delta Police Division and Surrey Police Service shall be investigating Schachter’s criticism.
